An Escape for Completeness

There is so much that escapes your eye
If only I owned time
To freeze the moments
When you look at me

There is so much that escapes your eye
Like my stares that thought of you
Hung the flag of your scent on its iris
You are my periphery

There is so much that escapes your eye
Like my words I whisper when you are near
The thoughts I long for you to hear
But you pay no attention to my lips

Could you let your stare linger just once
Taste my presence one more
Hold my broken smiles close
Toast my heart golden brown with a stare that's true and mutual

If just for one moment in time
Could you just pause
And look at me
Escape with me

I have spent countless hours
During lonely nights
Painting my thoughts of you on these scared cheeks with confused tears

If just for a moment in time
Could you just read me even if with your stares
Tracing your hands over the letters inked with the
Soul you own
A soul that still lays captive in your arms
For it is only when you look at me
The puzzle finds its missing piece
Its only when you look at me ,my being feels complete
